HEALTHY LIVING: NUTRITION/WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
More than half of the nation and Utahns alike are overweight or obese. Taking control of your weight by making simple lifestyle changes can greatly decrease your risk for obesity related health problems.

There are many reasons to lose weight; to be healthier, to feel better, to have more energy, or to look better. No matter what the reason, successful weight loss and healthy weight management is a great goal to pursue. If you set simple goals for yourself, you will be more likely to achieve them and keep the weight off. In fact, losing even just five to 10 percent of your weight can help improve your health.

For most overweight people, weight loss should be gradual. For safe and healthy weight loss, try not to lose more than two pounds per week. Sometimes people with serious health problems related to obesity may have reasons for losing weight rapidly. If so, a physician's supervision is suggested. "A Guide to a Healthy Weight" also offers plenty of tips and information to help you achieve your weight goals.
